Typical Applications
Series AX2200 and AX2300 Multi-Parameter Vortex Mass Flow Meters use a unique sensor head to monitor mass flow rate by directly measuring three variables–fluid velocity, temperature and pressure. The built-in flow computer calculates the mass flow rate and volumetric flow rate based on these three direct measurements. The velocity, temperature and pressure sensing head is built into the vortex meter’s flow body. To measure fluid velocity, the flow meter incorporates a bluff body (shedder bar) in the flow stream and measures the frequency of vortices created by the shedder bar. Temperature is measured using a platinum resistance temperature detector (PRTD). Pressure measurement is achieved using a solid-state pressure transducer. All three elements are combined into an integrated sensor head assembly located downstream of the shedder bar within the flow body.

Typical Applications
The SonoPro U42 clamp on ultrasonic meter is a cost effective and non-invasive solution to your metering needs. The clamp on feature allows you to easily install a metering solution anywhere in the facility. Since these are attached to the outside of the pipe, they can easily be relocated without having to shut down your process. The ultrasonic waves are transmitted through the pipe and fluid in the following two directions: upstream and downstream or with and against flow. The fluid velocity is calculated with the difference in the time measurement for each signal. With the fluid velocity and the pipe size, the meter can calculate the fluid flow rate.
U42 is a wall-mount, clamp-on or insertion type ultrasonic flow meter using transit time technology to accurately meter clean liquids with little to no air bubbles or particles. Clamp-on type ultrasonic flow meters are easy to install and do not require shutting down or cutting the pipe, saving you trouble and cost. Insertion type ultrasonic flow meters allow measurement of pipes that are not compatible with the clamp-on type. The SONOPRO U42 uses our unique calculation software to ensure high accuracy and low velocity response. U42 has the option of adding RTD temperature sensors to become an energy meter for the monitoring of energy use, helping you save energy and money.

Typical Applications
Azbil VorTek VorCone™ flow meters utilize two different flow meter technologies in combination; vortex and differential pressure. The design has blended the two separate flow metering principles into one hybrid system where the two meters complement each other’s performance. This combination allows for the prediction of the fluid density, volumetric flow rate and mass flow rate without any fluid density information being required from an external source.

Typical Applications
VorTek instruments Pro-V multivariable flowmeters utilize three primary sensing elements – a vortex shedding velocity sensor, an RTD temperature sensor, and a solid-state pressure transducer – to measure the mass flow rate of gases, liquids and steam. Systems that use external process measurements to calculate mass flow may not provide adequate compensation for the fact that process conditions can change radically between the point of velocity measurement and the point where upstream or downstream pressure and temperature measurements are being made. Because the Pro-V multivariable flowmeter measures all of these parameters in a single location, it delivers a more accurate process measurement. Integrating multivariable output capability with a single line penetration also simplifies system complexity and helps reduce initial equipment cost, installation cost and maintenance costs. The product line is available with a wide range of options and meter configurations to meet your specific application requirements.

VorTek Instruments Model Pro-T multivariable flowmeters utilize three primary sensing elements – a turbine sensor, an RTD temperature sensor, and a solid-state pressure transducer – to measure the mass flow rate of gases, liquids and steam. Because the TurboPro is able to measure all process variable within a single device it provides exceptional accuracy, simplifies system design and reduces installation costs. They are easily installed with flanged or Male NPT process connections in any pipe size of two-inches and greater. Optional retractor or “hot-tap” hardware simplifies maintenance operations. TurboPro Model Pro-T provides excellent rangeability and can measure very low flow rates with negligible permanent pressure drop. Additionally, rotors are interchangeable, making this meter a good choice for installations with step changes in seasonal flow rates. To simplify installation and commissioning, all measured variables and programming menus are available on the instruments easy to use display and control pad. The product line is available with a wide range of options and meter configurations to meet your specific application requirements.
